Ready or Not?

My business has always been just me and my clients. I started with the name Ready or Not Photography because that is how my husband and I approached every new adventure in life. It fit the adventure of starting a business. As my style has evolved and I have found a more solid footing for who I am within my business it felt natural to transition the name to my own. 

Most photographers describe themselves through their “style”. This is hard for me. Most of my time in photography I have spent learning light. So I edit to the situation. Sometimes I have to brighten an image sometimes, dark and moody is required.  like to say I capture and edit true to the moment. I am not bright and airy or dark and moody. I am typically pretty true to color with some beautified greens and blues.

- The show I watch absolutely any day of the week is Gilmore Girls
- I went sky diving for my 21st birthday
- I have had over 27 jobs in my lifetime…I quit counting
- Photography has been my one constant

I am every bit the quirky person who wants to be invited places, but then dreads going. I love the part of my business that allows me to meet small groups of people in public places, tell them my funniest jokes and get them to do silly things while allowing me to literally “read the room”. I am forever wishing to be the fly on the wall and that is what makes me so good at this. I want to tell the story of you, just through my eyes and in the absolute most stunning lighting.

Fun facts about me

Absolutely amazing experience!! My husband and I did a pregnancy photoshoot with Kären and she did such a great job at making the shoot feel natural and normal. My husband and I joke that we like these photos more than our wedding photos! We had a great experience and will absolutely be doing future family photos with Kären!

We are so happy we found Kären! Since we've found her, not only have we done our engagement session, but we've also done a couple of mini sessions with her. She is so much fun to work with and makes you feel extremely comfortable. We cannot WAIT for our big day and are so happy that she will be the one to capture it! I cannot recommend her enough!
